Parking & Traffic

The Fleadh committee are currently working closely with the Gardai and local authorities to devise an effective 'Park and Ride' system to allow the thousands of visitors easy access and exit to and from the town during the Fleadh Cheoil.
Please note that Gardai will be ensuring that traffic will be flowing freely in and around Tullamore with the exception of the main streets - your patience and cooperation is appreciated.
The Garda Síochána have prepared a traffic plan to help minimise disruption during the event.
Motorists are encouraged to use the offical car parks around the town
Motorists passing through town from Galway/Dublin/Kilbeggan will be diverted right at Scallys Centra along Collins Lane via the Ring Road.
All junctions etc. will be manned by Gardaí throughout the event.
William Street/Bridge Street/High Street
i.e. from Kilbeggan Bridge (Barriers) to High Street Roundabout – (Barrier)
Harbour Street - (Barrier at St Mary's Youth Centre)
Chapel Street and Store Street entrances to Harbour Street will also be closed.
Patrick Street (Barrier at Garda Station)
Church Street (Barrier past Dean Place entrance)
Market Square (All exits /entrances closed)
O'Connor Square (All exits/entrances closed)
Resident Passes: A limited number of Resident Passes will be issued for persons within the streets affected by the closure however due to the volume of people in Tullamore town centre access or egress will not be possible at certain times.
Delivery Vehicles: Delivery Vehicles will be allowed access each morning. All deliveries to be completed by 10am.
Taxis/Hackneys: There are three temporary designated taxi ranks:
1. Church Street – Upper End
2. Water Lane – Outside Elverys Store
3. Convent Road – Outside Eugene Kelly's Pub
Hackneys will be permitted to pick up pre-ordered fares on Offaly Street. This area will be maintained for this purpose.
Special Needs parking (with recognised pass): Tara Street i.e. between Loughreys Pub and Bridge Centre will be designated for Special Needs parking throughout the event. In addition there are Special Needs parking bays in all commercial car parks and public parking areas not affected by street closure.
Motorhomes Campers: All motorhomes and campers must use the designated campsite. Tow away in operation
Casual Trading by Stalls, Mobile Units etc. will only allowed in the area designated by Tullamore Town Council at Kilbride Plaza. Trading may only be operated by people who have applied for and have been granted a Licence. No Casual Trading will be permitted aside from this and the law on the matter will be strictly enforced whereby Goods and Vehicles will be confiscated and prosecutions will follow. A towing service will be available to remove illegal traders and campervans.
