Why was a relative of a provincial winner allowed to adjudicate in another, later, provincial competition? This adjudicator went on to give a low place to a recent All-Ireland champion while letting others not quite so good through? This means that the relative will not be facing the strong competition they should. Something smells here! Search your records.

I've been going to the Fleadh for 25 years and it's always been the last weekend in August. I've booked my holiday and travel on that basis only to find it's a week early. Disaster!! Anything happening the next weekend?

I agree, the NI/Uk bank holiday weekend end of August has been the tradtional weekend for the Fleadh an I have been going since Buncranna in the mid 70s. It is messing with our tradition. You wont be the only one caught out.See how quiet the Monday and Tuesday will be this year. They wont even say if the are continuing with this change for next year

A lot of people are in the same boat as you - the Bridge Hotel is fully booked and I heard that the Court and Days also havee people booked! Might be worthwhile going anyway - the music might even be better! Good luck.

Your camping and motorhome prices are a complete rip off. Typical as usual
Séan   1 year ago

I think its totally wrong to suggest its a ripoff.....the quality of the camping facilities at the Fleadhs in Tullamore have been the best ever.....hot showers.....toilets...security....and at reasonable rates...a little bit of a walk to charleville camp site but worth it for atmosphere at the fleadh.

God Bless all Festival guys and gals at the Fleagh 2009. Watch out for Fermanaghs brightest star, Marea Connelly (Wattlebridge) from the borders of Fermanagh/Cavan/Monaghan - she has the face of an angel and the voice of Rosie Steward/Roisin White combinead. Outstanding!!!! Good luck young Connelly. Big John would be proud of you!!!!

NOTE:GAA (O'Brien park)have supported the fleadh i stayed there the previous 2 years and overall its a better run campsite than the campsite at the rugby club this year. (At least we could have a shower when we wanted)The GAA is steeped in irish culture and have always supported the fleadh ceoil over the years.

Of course they are steeped in irish Culture - it's just money to them. Euro 28,000 is not a bad payday for 07-08 from the Fleadh - and asking 24K for O9 was just pure mean - so glad the Rubgy Club was available and did such a wonderful job with just 3 weeks notice.

they got a lot of money from the fleadh - €28k the last 2 years. they wanted €24k this year plus costs. not fair when they are supposed to be steeped in culture..... they're only after the money.

I am arriving in Ireland 0n Wednesday, August26. I just discovered this web site and I am very disappointed that I will miss this great event. I love the tradition irish music and dance. Perhaps if I visit Tullamore there will be some leftover music in twon.

Although the campsite in the rugby club was smaller than the last two years, it was okay apart from the water running out which was an inconvinence as we could not have showers. I would like to thank the boys from the GAA who allowed us to use there showers. Thanks ALOT lads!

u or whoever u talking about was prob not good enough 2 win so go back 2 wherever and sulk, Tullamore don't decide who adjucates in any competition. It comes from head office. Tullamore did a great job 3 years in a row.

A few first for any Fleadh, kick boxing in very high heels in McNamees (You know who your are!), Flag pole climbing very impressive!, subways that not only are tasty but also are very pleasureable - ted (quess what your wife is getting for your birthday), South African taxis driver lost somewhere in the country looking for the motorway!!!! Private security on call at every pub we were at and small rugs available to order for any conditions, in all a great wkend with lots of laughs....

This was our 3rd year at the Fleadh in Tullamore. On two occasions in Bridge House Hotel this year, members of my family (one aged 16) were told that we couldn't listen to the music unless we were drinking!!!! Did anyone else have the same experience? I couldn't believe it. Surely part of the whole Fleadh experience is wandering from place to place listening to the music and enjoying the atmosphere.
